This tool extracts your PDF's actual text and rebuilds it as proper Word paragraphs, with headings inferred from font size and a real heading hierarchy (Heading 1, 2, 3). What it doesn't do is reproduce the PDF's exact visual layout: multi-column pages are flattened to a single column, tables come through as plain text lines rather than real Word tables, and images aren't currently carried over. For table-heavy PDFs, PDF to Excel or PDF to CSV will serve you better.

It's honestly not a pixel-exact layout reconstruction, though: it rebuilds your PDF's text as proper Word paragraphs and headings (inferred from font size), rather than reproducing the PDF's exact column layout, precise table grids, or exact positioning.
Will columns, tables, and images be preserved exactly?
No — multi-column layouts are flattened into a single reading-order column, and tables come through as plain text lines rather than real Word tables. If tables are what you actually need, PDF to Excel or PDF to CSV is a better fit. Images currently aren't carried into the output.
How are headings detected?
By comparing each line's font size to the PDF's most common (body text) size. Noticeably larger text becomes a Word heading, with a proper heading hierarchy (Heading 1, 2, 3) based on relative size — the same approach used by PDF to Markdown.
Does this work on scanned PDFs?
No. It reads the PDF's actual embedded text layer, not pixels — a scanned PDF with no real text layer has nothing for it to extract.
Can I edit the resulting Word document?
Yes, fully — it's a genuine .docx file with real paragraph and heading structure, editable in Word, Google Docs, or LibreOffice like any other document.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
