Yes, a genuine layout reconstruction — with clearly scoped limits. This tool opens your .pptx file's internal XML, reads the exact position and size of every text box, shape, and picture on each slide, and redraws them at those coordinates on a matching PDF page. Text is drawn as real, selectable PDF text — not a screenshot. What's intentionally out of scope: gradients, shadows, and other effects (solid fills are supported), animations and transitions (no PDF equivalent), and charts, SmartArt, embedded tables, and grouped shapes, which are currently skipped rather than approximated. Text uses a standard font rather than your presentation's exact theme font. For a presentation using mostly text boxes, images, and simple shapes, this reconstructs the real layout faithfully.

Is this a genuine conversion, or does it just extract the text?
It's a genuine layout reconstruction, not a text dump. This tool reads each slide's actual internal structure — the position and size of every text box, shape, and picture — and redraws them at the correct coordinates on a matching PDF page. It's honestly not a pixel-perfect renderer, though: some visual details are intentionally out of scope (see below).
What doesn't carry over?
Gradients, shadows, and other visual effects are not reproduced (solid fill colors are). Animations and slide transitions have no PDF equivalent and are dropped. Charts, SmartArt, embedded tables, and grouped shapes are currently skipped rather than approximated. Text uses a standard font rather than your presentation's exact theme fonts.
What does carry over accurately?
The position and size of text boxes and pictures, paragraph text with bold/italic and font size where explicitly set on the slide, solid shape fill colors, and the slide dimensions themselves (each PDF page matches your slide size exactly).
Does it support both .ppt and .pptx?
It supports the modern .pptx format. The older binary .ppt format isn't supported — if you have a .ppt file, open and re-save it as .pptx in PowerPoint first (File > Save As).
Is the text in the PDF selectable?
Yes — since text is drawn as real PDF text objects (not a rendered image), it's selectable and searchable in the output.
Is my presentation uploaded anywhere?
No. Parsing and PDF generation both happen entirely in your browser — your file is never sent to a server.
