This tool covers exactly that kind of light editing without installing software or creating an account, and everything stays on your device throughout.
This tool renders each page of your PDF so you can see exactly what you're working with, then lets you place new text, shapes, highlights, and freehand marks directly on top using simple click-and-drag tools. When you save, those additions are drawn permanently into the PDF using pdf-lib, producing a normal, flattened PDF file — not a separate annotation layer that could be stripped out.
This is annotation-style editing, not text-replacement editing. PDFs store pages largely as fixed layouts rather than editable paragraphs, so rewriting a sentence that's already in the document isn't something any purely browser-based tool can do reliably — the practical workaround is covering the old content with a rectangle and adding new text over it.

What kind of editing can I actually do here?
You can add new text anywhere on a page, draw rectangles, highlight areas, and freehand-draw with a pen tool, in any color. This tool adds new content on top of the page — it doesn't let you edit or delete the PDF's original existing text.
Can I edit the original text that's already in the PDF?
No. PDFs don't store text as an editable document the way a Word file does, so directly rewriting existing sentences isn't possible in a browser-based tool. You can, however, cover unwanted text with a rectangle and add new text on top.
How do I remove something I just added?
Use the Eraser tool and click on the item you want to remove, or use Undo Last to remove the most recent addition on the current page.
Can I edit multiple pages?
Yes. Use the page navigation to move between pages — your edits on each page are kept as you move around, and everything is applied when you save.
What if I need fillable form fields instead of static annotations?
This tool adds fixed, non-interactive content. If you need real fillable text boxes and checkboxes, use PDF Form Creator instead.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
