Does rotating an image reduce its quality?
Rotating by exact 90°, 180°, or 270° loses no quality at all — pixels are simply repositioned. Rotating by a custom angle (like 15°) does soften the image slightly because the corners need to be filled in, which is normal for any rotation tool.
How do I turn a landscape photo into portrait, or vice versa?
Use the Rotate 90° Right or Rotate 90° Left button — this swaps the width and height, turning a wide landscape photo into a tall portrait image (or back again) with no cropping.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. The rotation happens on your own device using your browser's built-in canvas engine — the image is never transmitted anywhere, which is safe for personal or sensitive photos.
Can I rotate a photo taken sideways on my phone?

Can I straighten a slightly tilted photo, not just rotate 90°?

What output format should I choose?
Keep the same format as your original where possible — JPG for photos, PNG if the image has transparency you want to preserve. PNG is used automatically for the corners of a custom-angle rotation so they don't turn black.
